♥ Cycles
"I said, well daddy don't you know that thIngs go in cycles
The way that Bobby Brown is just ampin like Michael" -qtip the abstract
The time has come for me to come back around to this blog. I'm not sure what I have in store for this site or what it has in store for me but it has spawned something great once...
And I believe things go in cycles

♥ much ado about nothing
THIS IS ABOUT HAIR!
(that home spun haircut was fresh)
sometimes the difference between the two textures was too much to bear... I occasionally straightened
but hair is just hair...right?
about 8 months I decided that this would be the last perm (relaxer) that I would subject myself to
to my knowledge a relaxer chemically weakens the natural texture of your hair by stripping it of protein and restructuring it.
^ that doesnt sound good to me
so i began a period known as transitioning
2 months into transitioning
this was the summer of the flat iron
(that home spun haircut was fresh)4 months into transitioning I just started to wear it curly...wash n' go
sometimes the difference between the two textures was too much to bear... I occasionally straightened8 months and it became apparent i had a tightly curled afro with loosely curled strings errupting from it
(veggie sub)
(veggie sub)after around 8 or 9 months of transitioning on 01/29/10 i big chopped.
(when its tightly coiled)
(a puff after stretching my hair)
(when its tightly coiled)
(a puff after stretching my hair)i have heard so much negativity about my hair that it has been discouraging at times
- ive been told that my hair was nappy
- i need to perm it
- i shouldnt go out of the house with my hair like that
between the black culture/negative comments/ and possibly personal thoughts that i am used to having
- i feel that torn between whether straight hair is prettier
- i most definitely do not want my hair to be straight
- would i start on even playing field if i was like every other black woman with straight hair?
- i dont want my hair to be a reaction getter/political/or personal statement
EVEN THOUGH IVE SPENT HOURS AND HOURS WORTH OF TIME FINDING OUT ABOUT RELAXED AND NATURAL HAIR
ITS JUST HAIR RIGHT?!
